Our Curriculum

We aim to challenge pupils at all levels and to inspire and engage them in all aspects of their learning through using a creative approach to teaching. We believe in giving children many opportunities to work collaboratively using the Kagan Cooperative Learning Approach. We also use educational visits and visitors to the school to engage the children in learning wherever it is appropriate to do so.

EYFS Curriculum

The EYFS curriculum is planned using development matters. We provide a wide range of learning opportunities using both play and more formal short focus sessions. Through careful observation and assessment staff are able to move children on in their learning effectively.

Key stages 1 and 2

We teach our maths using the AET mathematics curriculum and our RE using the Understanding Christianity Scheme developed by the Church of England which is supported by the Essex Syllubus for other faiths. All other subjects are taught using the national curriculum.

Below you will find our topic themes and long term plan for maths. On each page you will find the unit plan jigsaws which contain more information.
