Our Curriculum

We are currently in the process of updating our curriculum and from September 2019 have introduced a 'curriculum day' every week, where the children can get fully engaged in their topics. These topics for the Autumn Term are:

Yr R: All about me.

Yr 1: The Enchanted Woodland.

Yr 2: Go, Go, Go - Travel and Transport.

Yr 3: The Egyptians.

Yr 4: The Romans.

Yr 5: The Anglo-Saxons and Vikings.

Yr 6: Life during World War 2.

We aim to challenge pupils at all levels and to inspire and engage them in all aspects of their learning through using a creative approach to teaching, and we will use educational visits, and visitors to the school, to engage the children in learning across all year groups.

The teaching of English and Mathematics is undertaken with reference to the National Curriculum, using a range of resources. RE continues to be planned using the 'Understanding Christianity' scheme developed by the Church of England which is supported by the Essex Syllabus for other faiths. The EYFS curriculum is planned using 'Development Matters'.

Further details of our 'all new' curriculum will appear here, as it develops during this year. If you would like any further details in the meantime however, please do not hesitate to contact us.
