As the pupils approach the phonics screening assessment, we will continue our daily phonics teaching and learning focus, whilst also ensuring that pupils are making phonically plausible attempts at words within their writing, whilst also upholding their use of finger spaces, capital letters and full-stops, as well as question marks and exclamation marks.
In whole-class Guided Reading we will be reading Finding Nemo whilst thinking about adventures under the sea and the Pixar movie short La Luna, which will no doubt inspire lots of lovely space related thinking.
This term, year one will return to and develop our shape work, before learning about time and finally moving on to estimation and reasoning work.
This term we will be investigating plants - and so, it would be great to hear how the children's World Book Day sunflowers are progressing :)
As you can see, we have a very busy and exciting term ahead of us, which we look forward to sharing during our Sharing Assembly and Parent Craft Afternoons. Until then, please remember that the door is always open and to make contact via Class Dojo should you need to.
